21st Festival della Castagna in Val Bregaglia
27th September – 19th October 2025
In the southern part of Val Bregaglia, known as Sottoporta, between the charming villages of Soglio, Bondo, and Castasegna, you'll find the largest cultivated chestnut groves in Europe. The chestnut, a vital fruit of our valley nestled south of the Swiss Alps, has been a cornerstone of life here, especially during periods of hardship.
During the span of three weeks we offer interesting guided tours, markets, lectures, delicious tastings and several walks dedicated to the chestnut. Very popular are the events of our pastry chefs, where some secrets of the chestnut cake are revealed. Small and large festivals take place, where everyone is warmly invited.
